In the Craft, we understand the power of energy—how it moves, how it clings, and how it can shape our reality. We cleanse our homes, our tools, and ourselves… but how often do we cleanse our social media feeds?

In this modern age, our digital spaces are an extension of our energy fields. Every scroll through your feed brings in vibrations—some uplifting, others draining. From drama-laden posts to performative positivity, the content we consume can influence our mood, our magick, and our sense of inner peace.
I know that myself personally - It took me a long time to rid my Social Media of things that no longer served my higher self, or purpose. I was one of those that didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, even though they could care less about mine. After many years of digital downfalls, hurt feelings, endless scrolling for no reason, etc., I finally can say that my phone and computer are now cleansed!
It’s time to cast a circle around your digital life and perform a little banishment spell of your own.
Why Detox Your Social Media Feed?
Just like we wouldn't leave our altar cluttered or our ritual space filled with chaos, our digital environments deserve the same care.
Here's why it's vital:
Energetic Clutter: Negative or misaligned content clogs up our mental and spiritual channels.
Comparison Traps: Seeing curated perfection can distort self-image and stifle self-worth.
Influence of Unconscious Programming: Ads, fear-mongering, and toxic trends can subtly rewire our thoughts and behaviors.
Distraction from the Craft: Time lost to mindless scrolling is time stolen from spellwork, reflection, and connection.
Signs You Need a Digital Detox
You feel emotionally drained after checking your feed.
You find yourself doom-scrolling late at night.
You compare your path or progress to others frequently.
Your magickal practice has felt stagnant or uninspired lately.
You’ve outgrown certain creators, communities, or trends.
How to Magickally Detox Your Feed
This is more than just hitting “unfollow.” This is digital banishment with intention.
1. Ground and Center
Before you begin, light a candle, take a few deep breaths, and center your energy. This is a ritual of reclaiming space.
2. Set the Intention
Whisper or write down a phrase like:“I cleanse my feed of anything that no longer aligns with my truth. I make space for inspiration, authenticity, and magick.”
3. Perform the Purge
Go through your following list and ask yourself:
Does this account make me feel seen and empowered?
Do I learn or grow from this person?
Do I feel heavy or small after engaging with their content?
If the answer is no… release them. Unfollow, mute, or block—whatever your spirit requires. This isn’t about judgment—it’s about energetic alignment.
4. Create a Sacred Feed
Now bring in energy that feeds your soul. Follow accounts that:
Share wisdom from witches, mystics, and herbalists.
Offer grounding beauty: nature, art, poetry, ritual.
Inspire growth in your spiritual path.
Promote healing, inclusivity, and sacred self-care.
Digital Boundaries Are Magickal Boundaries
You don’t owe anyone access to your energy—online or offline. Just as you wouldn't let someone barge into your home and dump their emotional baggage on your altar, you don’t have to accept that through your phone or computer either.
Your feed is your temple. Protect it. Curate it with love. Let it be a space where your inner witch can breathe.
Final Spell of Affirmation
Here’s a simple affirmation you can repeat after cleansing your feed:
“My digital space is sacred. I invite only what uplifts, enlightens, and empowers. So mote it be.”
My Final Word
The digital world isn’t separate from our magick—it’s an extension of it. Just as we cleanse our homes and altars, we must tend to the spaces where our energy flows, even through a screen. I hope this little ritual of digital banishment brings you clarity, peace, and space to breathe again.
May your feed become a reflection of your soul’s light—nourishing, sacred, and beautifully aligned.
Until next time, dear one…Stay grounded, stay witchy, and remember:
You are the curator of your world—online and off.
🖤Blessed Be ~ With Moonlight & Magick
